Baby Birds:

Baby Starlings:

Three baby starlings have arrived! That's some hair-do he's sporting. isn't it?

We're not supposed to have favorites, but...

Feeding time, every 30 minutes from early morning till about 10pm every night.

Barn Swallow:

Baby Mallard:

This little one showed up on June 2, 2017, she's being transferred down to a wildlife center so she can be with other young ducks when she is released back into the wild.

A young Starling taking his first bath...

Crow:

This young fledgling crow arrived in bad shape. The white feathers indicate he suffered from a pretty substantial nutritional deficiency. He was doing really well for awhile, eating great and was bright eyed and alert.  Because of his issues, he could not be released and we had found a wonderful place where he could live out his days in a huge outdoor aviary....then sadly, he suddenly passed away one day without any warning. We were greatly saddened by the loss of this sweet bird......

This little one had an injured wing but made a full recovery!

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal. And I was angry.

"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"

God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, "I have done something," he replied. "I created you."

When you have a choice,

              Choose kindness.....

I shall

Gather up

All the lost souls

That wander this earth;

All the ones that are alone,

All the ones that are broken,

All the ones that never really fit in.

I shall gather them all up,

And together we shall find our home.
